The She PowHer Foundation believes that every menstruating woman and young girl should have access to a menstrual hygiene solution

The She PowHer Foundation believes that every menstruating woman and young girl should have access to a menstrual hygiene solution that will give them the freedom and confidence to focus on their personal development and socio-economic activities, rather than on an unmet need. 

Providing a safe and sustainable menstrual solution to these girls and educating them on menstrual hygiene empowers these women and girls to make educated decisions for their own health and well-being.

Our Vision

Our vision as the She PowHer Foundation is to be a significant contributor in ending period poverty across the African continent for all underprivileged, marginalised menstruating girls and women who have little to no access to menstrual hygiene products by providing these individuals with a sustainable, world-class, medical grade silicon menstrual cup they can use confidently for up to 10 years.

Our mission is to distribute menstrual cups and educate these underprivileged, marginalised menstruating girls and women about menstrual health and hygiene to ensure their well-being, restored dignity, and reduce the risk of ailments due to unsanitary menstrual practices

About Me

Ruth Apostolov a visionary and businesswoman with a remarkable track record of success whose foundation is rooted in the dynamic landscape of media and communications. Starting her career in her late twenties with esteemed media houses navigating diverse challenges and opportunities has shaped her perspective.

The Journey

In her late thirties, fueled by a vision for innovation and autonomy, she took a bold leap and founded her own outdoor media company.- ICTV . For Over two decades, she steered this venture to remarkable success,  leveraging  creativity  and  business  acumen  to  thrive  in  a competitive predominantly male dominated industry . Unfortunately her comfortable world was rocked by Covid 19 in 2020 -the Outdoor Eventing industries was hardest hit and she made the toughest decisions to close down her 20 year old business. The onset of the global Covid 19 pandemic marked a pivotal moment of reinvention.

In 2022 over covid embracing the challenges at the ripe old age of 53 she redirected her focus towards a profound sense of purpose and started her journey into medical manufacturing of a disruptive product -the menstrual cups. Recognizing the pressing need for sustainable solutions in women’s health, she ventured into the realm of medical manufacturing, specializing in world-class medical-grade silicone  menstrual  cups.  The  lowest  maintenance,  most  sustainable and revolutionary period product that allows every women to be unstoppable.

Ruth considers herself a Social Entrepreneur focused on manufacturing menstrual cups and ending period poverty because she  believe  in  the  power  of  sustainable,  accessible  solutions  to address societal challenges. By creating menstrual cups she can provide women with a cost-effective and environmentally friendly menstrual   product,   while   also   working   towards   eradicating   the barriers that prevent individuals from managing their periods with dignity and ease. This endeavor aligns with my values of social impact and sustainability, driving positive change and empowerment in communities worldwide.”
